New Year, New Ideas, New Library???

I am excited about beginning the 2012-2013 school year at D.P. Cooper Elementary School.  There are bulletin boards to create, pictures to make, equipment to reinstall, web pages to update, grants to write, and on and on and on...

As I was completing the inventory at the close of last school year, I thought about ways I could stretch the current library space without major construction taking place.  Even if the library budget was humongus (which is the opposite of the actual budget) , there is absolutely no empty shelf to place a new selection of books!

I began thinking about the adjoining room - currently a teacher workroom with LOTS of shelving - and I had one of those cartoon light bulb moments (I could just see it hanging over my head).  If I totally rearranged the layout I have now to include the space next door...hmmm.

I might go to school in August, become overwhelmed with things to be accomplished by a deadline, and decide the current situation isn't so bad after all.  But then again, you have to start somewhere, sometime, so why not jump into the job and get it done!  It will be a huge task, but the outcome will be worth the effort.

I'd love to hear your comments about the expansion idea.  I'd also love to have some volunteers, so let me know if you're willing to give a few hours to this project.
